With these, I really wanted to capture the dark and gloomy atmosphere to be instilled within the game, using desaturated colors and high contrast in the areas of interest to set the tone. The game's setting takes place in the mountains, where conifer trees are among the most common to grow - in the concepts the trees appear windswept and barren to reflect the harsh living conditions in which the game is set.

The church is an important area of interest in the map, so we felt it needed to have a unique design, while still remaining somewhat simple and matching the style and feel of the other village buildings. It went through several iterations, but something that remained consistent was having large, emissive stained glass windows, as to be seen from all points of the game map.
